Since 1876, Ericsson has been active worldwide and today operates in more than 140 countries. Annual investments in technical development average 15 percent of sales. These investments contribute to Ericsson's leadership in mobile infrastructure and mobile Internet, with nearly twice the size of the closest competitor. Four out of every 10 mobile calls are handled by Ericsson equipment.

Problems Faced
Ericsson's document workflow problem prompted them to look for a document management solution that could be centrally managed. Documents created by the employees needed to be efficiently routed to different department within the company and rapid changes in workflows had to be possible and easy to perform.

Solution Strategy
KETS offered Ericsson to transfer internal business transactions from paper documents to electronic forms that could be easily accessed via an intranet. These electronic documents that would be located on the network would be accessible to all the employees and they could be routed using workflow applications.

KETS implemented Jetform's InTempo workflow management suite as a solution to Ericsson's problem. Users located in different locations were given access to the electronic forms using an application located on the company's intranet. These forms were routed and managed using Jetform InTempo, which could be managed from the company's headquarters.

Since the workflow rules are defined and controlled at a centralized location, procedures and changes in these procedures could be easily applied to the intranet application making the changes instantly effective for all users connected to the network. Using monitoring tools bundled with InTempo, workflows can be contolled from a performance point of view. Bottlenecks within the workflows can be instantly identified allowing management to make decisions on workforce allocation for the whole company.

Using KETS's solution, Ericsson can effectively route business documents in an electronic environment which is accessible to all of the employees. The centralized management of these workflow rules allows the system to respond instantly to changes in business processes that effect workflows throughout the enterprise.
