 The card that will be processed is initially scanned using a scanner that may be either a specialized business card scanner or any TWAIN compliant document scanner. Using KETS Business Card Scanner's interface the user can preview the scanned image of the business card. The program also automatically recognizes the text areas of the card and matches the data in these areas with predefined data tags like name, address, position, telephone, fax, web address, and e-mail. All these data is shown on the user interface and can be approved by the user after they are reviewed. After the data is approved the program conects to the contacts database that can be located anywhere on your corporate network and transmits that data to be written to the database.
The software can store the data captured from the business cards and the images of these cards as well. As a result, the software allows access to both the data and the images from any computer on the network, allowing these contact information to be easily and conveniently passed on to other employees in your organization either as plain text data or the images of the original business cards. This allows for easy verification of the data stored on the system.
